Later is a social media scheduling and analytics suite, and it can schedule Instagram trial reels (it wrote about this on March 2, 2026). It expects you to arrive with finished videos. TrialReel starts one step earlier: it cuts new versions of the videos you already have, so you are not producing every trial reel yourself.
Everything about Later below was read on its own pages on October 31, 2026.

Where Later is the better choice
- You are a team scheduling many brands' posts and need approvals.
- You want a social inbox and analytics across networks.
- You already have plenty of finished videos and just need a calendar.
Where TrialReel is the better choice
- Your bottleneck is making enough different cuts, not scheduling them.
- You want a number of new edits per day rather than a content calendar to fill.
When not to pick TrialReel
If you need approvals, a shared inbox and one calendar for eight networks, Later is built for that and TrialReel is not. TrialReel is not a general scheduler.
Do they work together?
We do not integrate with Later. You could download TrialReel edits and schedule them in Later, but that is manual, and nothing links the two.
The issue schedulers cannot solve
Instagram's help text, as quoted by Planoly, says a trial reel may get limited reach if Instagram detects that you previously shared the same content. A scheduler publishes whatever file you give it. If you have three videos and a calendar with twenty slots, the calendar will not make seventeen more. That is the gap TrialReel fills. Our guide on scheduling trial reels covers the mechanics in every tool.
Price in plain terms
Later's pricing is per bundle of profiles and users. TrialReel's pricing is per number of new edits a day for one account. A team managing eight networks for several brands may pay less with Later. A creator who only needs more different edits on one Instagram account may find Later does not address the actual need.
How to decide
- Count your finished videos. If you have more than you can post, you need a scheduler.
- If you have fewer than you want to post, you need more edits.
- If both are true, use both, by hand.
What we could not check
We did not test Later's trial-reel scheduling ourselves. We relied on Later's own post and Planoly's roundup, and Later's whole feature list is not shown here.
A note on platforms
Later supports many networks in one place; its pricing page lists Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Snapchat. TrialReel's edits are vertical short-form video that you can download and post to Instagram, TikTok or YouTube Shorts yourself. We are not a multi-network scheduler, so if cross-network scheduling is what you need, Later does more of it than we do.
Questions to ask yourself
- How many finished videos do I have waiting to post right now?
- Do I manage more than one network or more than one brand?
- Do I need someone else to approve posts before they go out?
Lots of waiting videos plus several brands points to Later. Few videos and one Instagram account points to making more of them first.
